B.A.C.K. to Basics

Maine Weather

What a mixed bag of precipitation Maine is having today! BJ and I had to run to Turner, stopping along the way to grab a few things (dog food, automotive parts etc). From our house to Turner we had everything from heavy snow, to sleet, freezing rain, straight rain and nothing at all. A half mile could be an entirely different climate with associated precip. The roads were, obviously treacherous and again I find myself impressed with my Honda Pilot and how it handles in all kinds of weather! Of course driver experience comes into play too.

We saw MANY vehicles off the road. Some faired better than others. One little red sports car couldn’t seem to understand the concept of “ease into the gas”. Nope, the driver had the pedal on the floor, tires just a spinning, going no where. We passed without issue, stopped to pick up dog food and found that little red sports car in the ditch about a mile up the road. We saw a pick up on its side in the ditch. Driver was climbing out as we passed and there was already emergency services on scene.

It was a longer trip than I expected it to be, as I drive cautious and aware, but nice to be out. Nice to have some one on one time with the hubs. We talk and laugh and enjoy the drive. It’s the little moments.
