"Brushing" scam

One of my New Year resolutions, several like dieting have already fallen by the wayside, is to keep a careful track of everything I order from Amazon.
 
The reason for this is that I have had several parcels containing stuff I never ordered and there is no return addresses to send it back to.
 
Now I learn thanks to a techie savvy family member this is what is known as a “brushing scam”.
Products are sent out, usually from China, and the manufacturer posts fake reviews in your name.
 
Your identity is worth a lot more to them than the cost of a product that costs only a few pounds.
