Done
About the only accomplishment today was sewing on the buttons and at last completing the cardigan.
The rest of the day was spent on tedious chores, like cleaning the bath, changing the beds, hoovering and the tiniest bit of ironing, just three items which were just too creased to put straight into the wardrobe. I can remember when I used to iron everything and now it's nothing unless really pushed!
There was also a few phone calls, sorting things for mum. She is still unwell but the cough has subsided quite a bit so it seems the antibiotics are having some effect. I also had a long chat with my SIL. She was feeling a bit sad today but we managed to have a laugh by the end of the conversation. It's such a pity we're not allowed out of our homes to socialise. It would be so much easier for her if she could meet up with a friend to chat, away from the house and constant reminders of my brother.
There was a strong northerly wind blowing but I managed a short walk this morning. Conditions weren't good and eventually I made it precariously to the bottom of the hill. Unfortunately I couldn't chance going any further as the iron bridge which replaces the pavement at that point was just too treacherous. Luckily I didn't have Reg with me as I'm sure I would have ended up on the floor, not being able to give my full concentration to the ground conditions.
Reg went with Barry later in the day, to fill Mary's coal buckets and then a trip round a few fields. He, Reg, is now crashed out full length on the sitting room floor, enjoying the warmth of the fire. I'm sat on the sofa, feet up toasting my toes!
