Full Day

Despite the slow start (my sleeping patterns are dreadful right now) there was a lot of effort in terms of bamboo eradication today. I lopped and shredded enough to fill a large garden collection wheely bin. I applied a very strong weed killer to the bits that we couldn’t get out of the ground as the weather wasn’t suggesting rain or frost for a couple of days. I’m hoping that the chemicals at least weaken it a bit so that it’s easier to dig out in a few weeks time.

MrH did a good job of digging and chasing the roots and rhizomes. Two clumps we were able to dig out completely. I reckon it will be a couple or maybe three more weekends of work to get the majority out. It’s going to be very weather dependent.

Went for a rather determined walk as a means of blowing off the cobwebs. MrH decided to stay at home. I only managed between 3-4 miles as I set off a bit late and it was getting dark by the time I got to my half way point (Tom Long’s Post) which you can see in the background.

Cheese scones and tomato soup for dinner tonight - mmmmmm
