Tree

The weather forecast promised snow in the early hours of this morning, from about 03:00 till around 08:00. I was looking forward to building a Snowman - I even had a tangerine ready for his nose - and taking a trip with him this evening into the Arctic Circle.

But none of this was to happen. Instead we just had heavy rain, which eased off during the course of the morning. And in any case I would not have been let back into the country on my return, in the current circumstances - so all in all, it's probably a good thing that things turned out as they did.

Except, that is, for this poor tree, which fell in the wee small hours across the road leading southwards out of the village.
