A discombobulating morning...
...the paper girl didn't come...
Well - I say paper girl, but she's a lady in her 60s from the village, who used to deliver when Arthur had the corner shop. Now she heads over to Denby Dale in her car, picks up the papers for our village and brings them back and delivers them. By 10.30 this morning our paper hadn't arrived, which is unusual, so I had to print off the quick crossword so we could do it at coffee time ;)
When Roy rang he was told that Joan had called in early and said the roads were too icy for her to set out. Our round had been shared between the other deliverers - but there weren't enough of the bags of Guardian inserts to go round. Instead we got the Daily Mail mag, as you can see... Not a lot of difference there then... A silly start to the day...
Wet and miserable outside now - but we have caught up on a few admin tasks that have been hanging round for a while, and gently lurched from coffee time to lunch and it will soon be time for afternoon tea...
