A bit of a traumatic day..

Woke to no central heating. Rang local gasman who talked me through treating it as frozen condenser pipe and said if I couldn’t get it lit he’d try to fit me in sometime this evening but couldn’t promise. Phoned firewood man who said earliest he could deliver was in a week’s time. Explained issue and he very kindly dropped some bags off a couple of hours later. Eventually after about 100 goes the boiler lit. So relax. Run it for a couple of hours then think I’ll turn it off for the afternoon and light fire. Go to make tea and then realise no gas. Go to put on central heating boiler. Won’t light. So whilst waiting for Northern Gas man to come, cook a baked potato in the fire. Sadly it wasn’t hot enough to boil eggs so eventually used Jetboil from out of the van. Gasman came at 9 and sorted out frozen pipe and very kindly ordered me a new meter cover to replace the one that got broken a couple of years back.
