Flood alert!

We were called this morning a 0730 a few minutes after the alarm went off to be told to pack a bag and evacuate - flooding is imminent.
So we had our tea in bed, got washed and dressed as normal and went down the garden to look over the fence. It was fairly high but we’ve seen worse and so we went back in to make porridge for breakfast.
The water level had dropped 25cm by 4pm and the rain is just a miserable drizzle now.Over 25mm of rain for the day so far. Weather forecast says snow and ice later!
