Poor workmanship

This had been leaking for sometime, I saw this when I was on holiday. On Monday I located the leak with the listening gear and today we excavated and located a leak on the fitting. This would have been straightforward except when I turned the water off the PVC Valve Socket fell off the main. This should have been solvent welded except the person who did this forgot to hold the solvet close enough to the pipe. I recieved a very nice card from one of the Plumbing Firms I did some leakdetection for before Christmas thanking me for helping them out.
