Pa

Many blippers seem to be having a tough time at the moment, losing partners and parents, or struggling as we all get older. I have been  moved how people are coping and the honesty and richness with which they have described these difficult but inevitable experiences and have thought on my own losses. Today would have been my Pa's 97th birthday and Bernard Young's warm tribute to his own father, reminded me so much of him - also a kind and gentle man, a gentleman.  How I'd like to meet him again on an isolated beach. 

Here he is, pipe in mouth, folder under arm, contemplating something going on in a graveyard! Part of his job for Shell's Better Britain campaign I suspect.
