Today's the day …………………….. for road maintenance

I'm sure in pre-Covid days, I would never have brought you a picture of men in orange filling in a pothole in the road - but there's a couple of reasons why I have today.

Firstly, it's not just any old pothole, it's a whole assortment of them - and more importantly, they are in the road just outside our house.  They've been there for months, gradually getting bigger and deeper and probably more destructive to the traffic that passes over them.  They have promised that one day, the whole road will be completely re-surfaced.  But that's not going to happen any time soon and we're just glad to have this done at least.

Secondly, it probably is the most exciting thing that has happened today, which is my usual reason for choosing something to blip.  That says a lot about the amount of excitement in my life at the present time - which brings us back to the earlier statement re pre-Covid existence.

And finally, in answer to that age-old question of "How many men does it take to fill in a pothole in the road"?  Well, it's obviously - five.  One to actually do the work, and four to look on through the clouds of steam and no doubt offer useful suggestions ……………………….
