The swan metaphor

The art of looking like you are gliding along when actually you are working very hard beneath the surface. 

A lovely, sunny walk with my daughter and the dogs after zoom Pilates. The ice pond was still mainly frozen, however, and the path down to it was, as one passer-by described, "lethal". Evidently the water that had thawed and flowed down the road, had frozen over again, making it like an ice rink.
