Reaching Out Across the Pond
Got a lovely card from my cousin in Canada, she was sharing her story of her father who was in WW2 but has only now started to open up and talk about his experience. He was on an aircraft carrier and it got torpedoed, as he had lied about his age to join up, he was very young to see some of the carnage that happened. He said what happened at the moment changed his life forever. You wonder how many other stories are not shared because of the trauma.
My cousin's sons are both into art, and these cards are examples of their work, they're only 11 and 8 years old. The card today was the one with the hand reaching out. Lovely and so amazing, they seem very talented.
A boring assessment all day, Statler and Waldorf were leading it, it was quite funny and it's often during an assessment I end up doing hardly any talking. We passed suffice to say. Lol!
Haven't managed a power ramble, hopefully back on it tomorrow.
Today I am thankful for:
1. Hearing from my Cousin with the war story and these beautiful cards
2. Hearing that David Attenborough has had his COVID jab
3. For creating a breakout room on Teams, such a wonderful new feature. Lol!
