Rook - 7

It has been fabulous weather here today so we made the best of it and went on our extended circuit. It looks like the weather will be taking a turn for the worse again tomorrow. We saw our first goldcrest of the year but it was too quick and impossible to photograph. 

We spent some trying to identify whether this was a rook or carrion crow. They don't normally come this close and it was in good light so it was a good opportunity to study it. In the end we decided it was a juvenile rook  and this was confirmed when I ran it through the Merlin bird ID guide as recommended by Knottman2.
