ITHA (It’s That House again)
Three pleasing house related encounters this morning.
We needed some shopping and thought that early on a Monday would be quiet, and we were right. Having got what we needed in town we decided we’d get our exercise by walking up to look at how the house is getting on; this is it, by the way, the one nearest to us. As we arrived, the site manager was just coming out and he told us that the kitchen was going in this week, at least a week earlier than we expected, and the templates for the granite worktop would be done next week. Pleased with that news, we then got chatting to the chap in the picture in the hi-vis, who turned out to be the electrician. We’d wanted wall lights in one room but the builders would only do it if we bought fittings from them but the whole point was that we wanted to use some we’d brought from the old house, so decided not to specify them. The electrician told us that he’d heard we wanted wall lights so had put in the wiring anyway which would be hidden behind the plasterwork. Of course, we took his details, and once we move in we will be in touch with him to get them fitted.
Finally, as we were walking away W mentioned in conversation that she hoped the house would be lovely and light. A few minutes later the site salesman was driving past and stopped for a chat. Almost the first thing he said was that he’d been in the house a couple of days ago and thought it was really big, and the light was lovely! A very satisfied W after the conversation.
