These boots
are (hand) made (in Portugal) for walking (well riding actually).
My old Clarks boots have served me well for 12+ years but as I am walking more they have finally started to split and let in water. I have been looking for new boots that will last me 10+ years for a while - posh wellies, so called ‘country boots’ .... so many choices but nothing quite right.
I wanted the impossible, stylish, yet waterproof to knee height, waterproof yet incredibly comfortable with solid arch and ankle support. At a decent price. And suitable for high arches (so not slip ons). My friend bought Dubarrys which cost her a whopping £350 but I found these beauties from Bareback for a much cheaper price. Hopefully they will withstand flood water, muddy dog walks, cold winters - they have a sewn in waterproof membrane and a fur lined insole and feel as soft as gloves, yet still have steel toe caps.
As I wear them in I realise that I either need a boot jack or a manservant. Trying to work out which is more practical and realistic...
