Thaw

The thaw came and the house further along which has been unoccupied since the old resident left it a couple of years ago obviously hadn’t had its water turned off. And it still must have a tank in the attic. Eventually a few neighbours managed to get a key to the mains outside and turned the water off. It’s lost a few slates as well and rot will be setting in - given the terrace has a continuous roof it ought to be a worry for the neighbours on either side. 
Later, following my enjoyment of Les Miserables, another French film set in the same environment, but filmed back in 1995. La Haine. Sheesh. Wonderfully cinematic etc etc . Shame about the shitty subtitling which hopped all about the place. That’s all. Carry on!
