Budding Frangipani
Those lovely velvet-cream Frangipani flowers certainly get a lot of the attention, but for me the real show-stoppers are the Frangipani buds - seen here in various stages of development. Like children and animals, the buds are usually relegated to short cameo roles, but can easily upstage the main attraction and quietly steal the scene.
And like the fully-developed flowers, they don't seem to be in any way affected by marauding insects and pests - which in the plant world is quite a useful trick.
