Saturday was a grey, cold, miserable day and one best spent indoors. Nevertheless, I decided to venture out in the afternoon onto the icy streets, just to walk up to the local shop and back. Any plans I may have had to return home via the Canal were put on ice (in a manner of speaking) and I just walked back via some other local paths and then the main road. As you can see in today's photo, the road down to the Canal was still somewhat ice-bound.
