Welcome to South Limburg
Crowds of day trippers descend to the south of the country to enjoy the snow. They were in ski clothes, with sleds and especially with many. The Eperbaanweg (the Monday blip road) was already closed yesterday due to slipperiness and snow. As I once said, this is the coldest place in South Limburg. The day trippers were in chaotic traffic jams. Every driver wanted the best parking space, but all parking spaces were already full and after many unsuccessful attempts, parking in the soft muddy verge often turned out not to be a good option. I don't even think it's allowed on the narrow forest roads.
I went for a walk this afternoon. There was of course also snow here, although it was less than in the Vijlenerbos. Fortunately it was quiet. You could hear it dripping from the melting snow.
I wish the news would pay less attention to the beauty of South Limburg. If so many people keep coming, the area could soon be closed again.
