Why did I come in here?

Jigsaw

The jigsaw is the simplest comparison to make, however what Andrew sees and achieves is well beyond such simplicity. I have quietly watched him "read" a stone, find out where it will break, follow seams and create a piece that will fit as he wants to. The classic quote is that a Waller should or will pick up a piece of stone and use it, not discard it, he should make the correct decision visually.

It works. He knows where his next stones are to be found, he knows what he will do with them and where they will eventually go. It's a great skill which is being maintained by the Guild and those interested in what I consider to be an art form.
