Lichen on old apple tree

Another cold, grey day, so my blip was taken after a quick leap out of the car, over to the old apple tree, in what I assume was once a garden for one of the local farms, and then back into the car and home. I have added lomo lighting and vignette effects in PhotoShop just to give it a bit more interest, but I was fascinated to see these three plants sparring for space on such a small area of tree trunk.
