Greenheart

Wigan Local Nature Reserve in the area around Wigan Flashes and the Leigh Branch of the Leeds/Liverpool Canal is designated as Greenheart by Wigan Council, which you can read about here:

This is one of my favourite areas as you may know if you follow my blips regularly!
Today, the Sun was shining brightly at home, but I could see that there was mist in the valley, so off I went, and found a mystical, eerie landscape, where the Sun was bathing an orange light on the misty waters, which were all frozen, something I have never seen previously!
Usually from here, the banks of Scotmans Flash and the treeline beyond are clear to see.
