By the canal

Today we walked by the canal at Preston Bagot. It was good to be out walking with B and D and the dogs. We started off in one direction and then decided to turn and go in the other direction as it was a bit less muddy that way. Then Charlie had another scary adventure. He took a track off towards a river at the side of the canal and got caught up in barbed wire. I rushed down to release him and had to call B down to help. I was worried a spike had pierced his skin but luckily not and he was just trapped by his fur being all tangled up in it. We managed to release him thank goodness. Then we walked for a while and sat by a bridge to drink from our flasks of coffee and munched some biscuits. A barge was just coming through the lock so we watched for a while. The guy on the barge then asked D if he would mind shutting the lock gate so that was what happened. We then headed home. The dogs are very lively this evening. You would think they would be tired after our long walk!
