Glencorse Skyline

The westerly wind had risen overnight to blow sugary snow across the summits and infill any beaten tracks from yesterday. I enjoyed a trauchle around the hills surrounding Glencorse, post-holing in many places. Double-buff was deployed on Carnethy, it was bitter cold.

I lost count of the number of skiers out and felt sorry for the group climbing Turnhouse with skis strapped to their backs acting like sails in the wind.

On the way home I stopped in Colinton for a pastry (earned) and said hello to the famous Charlie Ramsay (of Ramsay’s Round) as he crossed the road.
