The Hudson Bay Company

The iconic Hudson Bay Company building in downtown Calgary is a favourite of mine. The black and white tiling around the entrance is epic. On a sunny day the shadows are incredible. Unfortunately I chose a Chinook cloud day to try and photograph some leading lines. I’ve never, ever seen the downtown core so empty and depleted of people. I suspect this iconic store will be the next to close permanently due to the economic situation and covid. It saddens me.
