Clothes pole
What a beautiful morning!
I hung out a washing first thing- there was still frost on the grass.
I tied up a honeysuckle that had fallen over and put out some food for the blackbirds who are nesting in my garden. Their song is my favourite sound in the world!
This old Victorian clothes pole is needing a wire brush and re painted, but I love the ancient look of it and the moss growing on it, especially against the blue sky.
A great victory for Scotland yesterday at Murrayfield and I had the unexpected pleasure of being sat next to Katherine Grainger at the post match dinner. She was a guest of the S.R.U. What a star! She is absolutely delightful and one very clever lady! She is working to complete her phd by April-I asked her if she was wearing a Superwoman T shirt under her jacket!
She brought her gold medal with her and was extremely generous about passing it round and posing for photos.
The medal is beautiful and very heavy and it was wonderful to see the magic it created and the excitement of everyone who held it! Nothing quite like it.
I took a photo which I may blip tomorrow- I know it's against the rules- but I think she deserves to be an exception !
