Nest-building

This shot shows a magpie perched on the side of the nest being built about 25 feet up in a nearby tree. (Please see yesterday's blip).

It looks as if one of the pair building the nest stays on it whilst the other forages for twigs. I can't yet tell if they swap places or if the nest is occupied at night.
