Elegant? - No

Been trying to snap rainbow lorikeets in the back yard for ages, but every time I saw some of them nearby and went to get a camera, they'd fly away. That changed this morning when half a dozen of them decided their bird bath had been cleaned up to an adequate standard to justify a dip and a wash.
Only thing worse than having no eligible Blipfoto shots by sunset is to have way too many of them before morning tea. So began the long, hard slog of culling them down to a shortlist of favourites; then culling them down to one or two finalists; then picking a single winner that somehow expressed the essential character of these beautifully-coloured but inelegantly raucous birds. (No draws or equal favourites here, please.)
This is the photo that does it for me - even though there's not a well-focussed eye in sight. Colour, movement, noise - verging on bedlam! - and sheer, unadulterated joie de vivre.
