Punakaiki
Like pancakes topped one on top of the other the rocks of Punakaiki on the west coast of New Zealand are food for the eyes. At high tide the sea rushes into these honeycombed eroded limestone cliffs sending up blowholes of spray.
We just came to pay homage to this classic west coast stop along the road. It was good fun to get away, but we all missed our bach. The farm at Gentle Annies is so lovely, why would we want to go anywhere else? In the evening Celine's mom made homemade crepes and Catherine made afghans. We ate well, drank wine, and were merry.
Pancakes in the morning. I'm inspired!
