Memories
We left the tropical breezes of Orlando this morning and arrived in Boston, land of a million Dunkin' Donuts, to a typical April day -- raining and about 48F/9C. As crazy as the trip was, we did bring back fond memories, except for Mr DH's memory of where he parked the car last Thursday. (Finally found it after we wandered around the long-term parking lot in the sub-Arctic wind for 20 minutes and yours truly asked for directions.) We are all happy to be home, and we even (bizarrely enough) felt comforted by the bleak early-spring Massachusetts landscape.
When we asked our daughter what her favorite part of the trip was, she replied "Going home," although the Festival of the Lion King, the Dumbo ride, and the parade still rated pretty highly. I asked her if she thought she'd like to go back to Disney some day, and I was relieved when she said, "No." Of course I wouldn't be surprised if she begs to go again in a few years, but I know now how we'd do it differently -- fewer days in the parks, go mid-week and during the off, off-season, and take more time to just relax.
