Sunflower
Oh! the heart, that has truly lov’d, never forgets
But as truly loves on to the close;
As the sun-flower turns on her god, when he sets,
The same look which she turn’d when he rose.
—Thomas Moore, Believe Me If All Those Endearing Young Charms (1808)
When K saw the photo the words came unbidden, but I won’t make a habit of quoting poetry. Surprisingly, to me anyway, the sunflowers that faced the sun this morning had turned in the evening, but were still open.
Thanks for hosting BikerBear.
Have a great weekend everyone!
