Rhada
Rhada is the wife of Aman, one of our colleagues from DidiBahini, and she cooked us the most amazing Nepali lunch today. Aman had invited us to his house to meet his family and have lunch. He didn't mention that Rhada was going to single-handedly prepare us a feast! Suffice to say I was a very happy man and was eating for a long time (as was the Mrs, egged on by our hosts!).
Aman's three children are all amazing. They are the loveliest, politest kids ever. I don't know what they do here but kids in the UK need a bit of it! The eldest told us how much they appreciate the hard work their parents do for them and that they will do their best in the futore to repay their kindness and show them all the love they have for them!!! I was close to tears!!
After lunch I took loads of pictures! Our hosts generously gave us some Nepali gifts, I received a fantastic new hat and very nice Nepal badge while the Mrs got some bangles and a necklace, as well as having a tikka and makeup applied in the traditional style of a married woman. So lovely and thoughtful, and we got lots of admiring looks on the way home....
And then we relaxed, chatted and played games. We had a top time :-) We really did feel the warmth and love they have as a family and it is a very special thing, they were so happy to entertain us and share their home with us. Brilliant!
And if that wasn't enough when we got home Tsering offered to take us out for dinner at a smart Tibetan place. We didn't have much room for more food, but we squeezed some in!
