Leaving on a Jet Plane
After nine days of filming a painter, a live unplugged session, a first time 45-minute set and a good old kick back session at Casey's bar, Markus heads back to Los Angeles.
We filmed in rain, wind and sleet. We filmed in diners, recording studios, galleries, art studios, buses, and the streets of Stamford. We filmed the coastline, the rocks, the trees, the windswept sky laden with mist, and nature at its hungriest.
At Cove Island we filmed a girl wrapping her heart and smile around a tree, thus fulfilling her dream to have this perfectly formed little tree on film. Regardless of whether all scenes will be included in the video for Seattle Mornin', there will always be the footage to remind Markus and I of an afternoon when all the odds were against us, yet something beautiful came out of it.
Equally important, I spent time with a wonderful film maker, a dear friend and a gentle man whose insight, integrity and artistry was a joy to be around.
Life is such a discovery.
