Spiky

I may have mentioned that it’s currently a bit icy here. Tonight it’s forecast to get very cold (for Edinburgh) so these new mini crampons have arrived at the perfect time. I’ve got a pair of ‘proper’ crampons but it’s not like there’s any ice climbing in the local hills so they’re more than a little over the top. And the ‘walking spikes’ are okay on footpaths but not that great over the hard frozen hills. This new pair should be perfect - they have a set of seven spikes on the front plate and then chains to a heel section with 4 more spikes. Much lighter and easier to put on.
