Walking like a Penguin
Having cleared the small (5cm) of snow last night and the weather forecast said it would stop, woke up to a new 5cm. To add injury, temperature to hover at 0°C and maybe some sun. Walk or drive on the new snow and it will compact and melt a bit but then tomorrow with temperatures due to plummet to nearly -10°C and maximum day time of -5°C, it will be an ice rink.
So morning spent with snow blower but today only using the DIY plough attachment. Went better than expected. Need to have a bit of luck to get the right type of snow - seldom is it light powder snow.
Luckily we don't have any pavements along our property as German law requires you to keep them clear of snow from early morning to late at night, depending on State but often 7am to 9pm. However, if the postman was delivering to our front door, slipped and broke bones, we would be liable if we hadn't cleared the snow. I'm expecting a parcel tomorrow ...caused by Redflash's extra photo.
On the evening walk we started out from the parish shop as I needed some bread. The pavements were almost all totally free but the one coming up on the left, extra photo collage, was half ways done. Over the crossing where the car is, there is no pavement, it's simply grass. The right-hand photo shows the footpath which the council clears and goes from our village to the main village (Geotag)
Today's main photo is granddaughter Charlotte's, designed by her and printed by her school, Christmas Card which arrived today. Daughter Kate posted it from Ireland over a month ago. Lovely nonetheless.
