Five Arch Bridge
Tier 5 - Day 3
Visited Painshill Park today.
This landscape garden was created between 1738 and 1773 by the Honourable Charles Hamilton. Inspired by Renaissance art and his two Grand Tours across Europe, he created breathtaking and surprising vistas at Painshill. The landscapes form living works of art into which Hamilton placed follies for dramatic effect.
It is a lovely place, and although it was very cold, the sun shone for quite a while, adding to its beauty. Will definitely go again soon.
The extra is the Gothic Tower.
