Sunset, Thurnham Court
A fine day for a change, cold and frosty, just as we like it. Unless you’re at the allotment digging and washing parsnips, carrots and beetroot in cold water.
Susan was heavily engaged with housework, enthusiastically dusting and cleaning after all the Christmas decorations had been taken down. She said it was quite satisfying. I spent the morning removing nails and other ironmongery from 6 eight foot joists I’d scrounged from a house that was being extended. The intention is to use the wood to build raised beds at the allotment. The first task for some of them is to use as a trestle to paint the landing and stairs.
After lunch when all jobs were done we set off for a frosty late afternoon walk around the lanes at the foot of the North Downs, treated to a fine sunset. Not the best ever, but still one to savour as we walked home in the gathering dusk.
Not sure about a theme for Abstract Thursday, Ingeborg usually hosts it. The white splodge is a water fountain.
Edit: just watched the News reporting on the events in Washington. Not only were their actions sickening when interviews they were unrepentant. They believe the propaganda they’re being fed. Biden has got his work cut out to help heal these deep divisions.
