I took this first thing.
The family arrived at 12.00pm.
Been a full on day!
They are all in bed now.
Bonnie fast asleep in her travel cot in the small office cum bedroom.
I was shocked when I watched the appalling footage from yesterday’s storming of the Capitol on my phone early this morning.
All down to Trump who incited them and it produces the likes of which have never been seen there since the last insurrection in that building during the Civil War in the 1800’s!
And he tweeted that he loved them and would never accept the result.
The Washington Post’s motto is
“Democracy Dies in Darkness”
That’s how it feels witnessing those scenes.
Yet there was something strong and courageous about those in the Senate, who all gathered together again to carry on with their task.
Mike Pence finally stood up to be counted and gave a moving speech.
I haven’t yet had time to catch up on further events but will do so a bit later.
