River mussel shell stranded after the flood

This isn’t the most spectacular image but I came across this shell while walking over an enormous riverside field soon after the Christmas flood receded. It was quite some way from the river but must have got stranded and then spied by some lucky heron.

I’ve never seen a river mussel and apparently they’re are uncommon in UK rivers so it was an exciting find.
