Suspense, waiting, anticipation
The working week begins, and Friday can't come quick enough.
I have much to look forwad to this week, a couple of excellent gigs at the back end of the week, some parcels to arrive in the post. The excitement of knowing I have mail arriving keps me in suspense all week, "will it be today?"
The postman doesn't arrive round here until lunchtime-ish, so I'm always at work, wondering, waiting in anticipation of walking home and opening the door with a glance into the kitchen to see if there are any packages.
I'm already excited, I have been since Friday when I made the purchases, and knowing tomorrow is Monday, the first day of the postal week, is filling my belly with hyperactive butterflies. The suspense is killing me, I'll not sleep tonight.
I goto watching a couple of films last night, one of which was Buried, the plot of which was an American truck driver, taken hostage and buried alive in Iraq, presumably in the middle of nowhere. The film focuses for 90 minutes on the hostage played by Ryan Reynolds (a very fine performance I have to say) trapped in a wooden coffin with nothing but a lighter and a mobile phone, kindly provided by the hostage takers. Having lost the 'safety' number to call in an emergency, he frantically tries to get in touch with the American law enforcement agencies. This is not a typical hollywood, anti everything but America, home of the brave land of the free film, rather the opposite. There are swipes taken at corporations, at the legal system, at humanity, even common sense. The part we play in life, we are but a tiny grain of sand.
Anyway, it's a great wee film that will keep you in suspense.
I've been enjoying the full moon the past couple of nights, I've found it quite hard to capture with the camera, it's very bright. I was walking home tonight when I got this photo, behind me the sun was setting and the sky was glowing with pinks and purples and little bit golden, I must try and get a panorama one night.
Have a fun week!
