Second Skin

Yesterday the praying mantis nymph that lives on the Stevia in the greenhouse cast its second skin. I saw the nymph before and after the event, but missed seeing it happen. The skin was still there this morning. I was fascinated by the detail in the skin. Clearly visible is the stump of its right antenna. It’s not going to grow back.
