Traffic Jam

I managed an hours ride on the bike today, it was cold but pleasant to be out. This road is closed while the bridge is replaced in preparation for the electrification of the Preston to Blackpool railway line. The wagons are carrying parts for the new bridge, each one measures 27 metres and weighs about 80 tonnes.

Even more impressive (to me anyway) was the 1000 tonne Baldwins crane which was in position to carry out the lift.
