Jim
Caught between posting something reflective of my first day back at work, or responding to the photo referenced in the "Mono Monday"" challenge. Went with the challenge.
Jim here is the larger of the two buoys. He was named by Jo almost nine years ago when we hauled him home from a boatyard planning to use him as the sun in a scale model of the solar system. He didn't get the job and just rolled around in the yard for years, serving as a bucking bronco of sorts. Eventually that got tiresome and he came to rest in the ruins of the old foundation in front of the house, where he's been ever since. The other buoy was eventually left there as well to give him company, but again according to Jo (to this day, since I just asked) that one is not deserving of a name. We take real pleasure in observing that Jim is a recognizable landmark when observing our house from space on Google Maps. Almost like a celestial object of sorts (see what I did there?).
Anyway pretty hard not to think of Jim and his companion when I saw the photo of the two shoes for today's challenge.
