Dachshund dilemma

I've acquired this out of date calendar. I do love Carl Larsson's paintings.

This one with the dachshund particularly appeals as my family had sausage dogs when I was growing up. Just now it really wouldn't be practical for me to own a dog.... but every time I see a dachshund I wonder..... maybe one day?
