Monday cake-making
Grey and chill, so a perfect day for cake-making (and eating!) This is a one-stage fruit cake, recipe from the Good Housekeeping cookbook. Like all my baking these days, it's gluten-free, but gf flour has totally come of age so I just use it like wheat flour. The only disadvantage is it can make cakes a little drier, so although the taste of this was great, next time I'll try grating half an apple into the mixture.
And that, honestly, has been my day. Not exciting but absorbing and quite fun..
