Looking towards Buttermere
Frosty, with icy pavements once again!
After an early lunch, we did the same walk as a couple of days ago...
Still plenty of snow on the fells...after all, it is Winter!
Before 1752, when they changed the Calendar, the New Year started on 25th March every year. That seems a lot more sensible than 1st January to me!
Why start a New Year in the middle of Winter? At the end of March the weather is improving and trees, plants and flowers are springing into life!
