Stacked wood

Taken on a x-country ski trip this afternoon along the valley from Saas Grund to Saas Almagen. The colours caught my eye against the white snow. It is a beautiful valley and we stopped many times to take photos. (See extras for a few more and an example of strange car parking).

We’ve come away to Saas Grund for four nights in an apartment. It is wonderful to come somewhere different. As we drove up the mountain 100s of cars were leaving as it’s the end of the busy New Year week. It should be very quiet on the mountain tomorrow which is why we chose this week to come. new restrictions are in place from today but the ski lifts are still allowed to open.
