A dreich day...

...so we weren't going to bother, but we found a weather window to walk this way again...
Just a swift trot round the block, taking in the spot where these tumbledown buildings used to be. We thought they had been pigsties, but we've since found out they were once part of a group of farm dwellings. The farmer has done quite a lot of work on his land, developing a new entrance, new barns etc, so they have now been demolished. What we'd never noticed til this week was the blocked up gateway - presumably an entrance to the dwellings. In the blip you can see how the capping stones on the original wall stop at the infilled gap. We couldn't see where the hydrant was either ;) 

We didn't quite make it back before the sleet started again - but we weren't far off...
