Slowly building up the layers. I decided it needed more contrast so I have gone over some of the tree branches in a darker brown, and added highlights to the leaves in a UV thread. Each new colour means a load of ends to sew in.

New Year is traditionally a time to let go of bad habits, and as I am unlikely to give up crisps anytime soon, I decided instead to try and work on some negative thinking patterns. In relation to my textile artwork this has meant reminding myself that it is my hobby, it is meant to be enjoyable, and I don't need to feel guilty if I don't make 'enough', if I can't be bothered to try and sell things, if I don't feel like making anything except clothes for a while.
